Mekong Giant Catfish
This Japanese family of 4 booked a 36hr session at Bungsamran Lake in Bangkok with The Fish Thailand Team.
The best fish of the session came on the carp outfit - which is a regualr occurance with fishing these techniques.
A tiring 20 minutes later all 132lb of Mekong giant catfish was lifted for the cameras - a wonderful catch to be proud of.
Siamese Giant Carp
With children along on this trip too, it was important to offer lots of action and so the carp fishing took a back seat. 1 carp was hooked and lost towards the end of the session, and many carp were entering the heavily baited swim; however with lots of catfish and small fish action taking place it was unlikely that the carp would tolerate this for long!
Family Fishing Fun
The whole family had fun with various other fish species such as tilapia and jouvenile Chao Phraya Catfish - all of which were small enough for the 2 kids to enjoy; while mum & dad battled mostly with Mekong giant catfish. |
