In terms of lake topography both lakes are somewhat similar with water depths ranging from 4 feet margins to deeper areas in excess of 40 feet in open water. The far bank offers shade from palm trees and additional seating. Due to less angling pressure this bank can often be worth considering when targeting Siamese carp and Pacu as it helps avoid other species.

Traditional Thai methods have proven most effective for targeting Mekong catfish and striped catfish, consisting of:

• Casting into open water at differing depths depending on weather conditions

• Feeder fishing with bread-packed feed is a more relaxed approach for Siamese carp and striped catfish.
