Fishing in Bangkok
Fishing in Bangkok with The Fish Thailand Team today was Steve & Anna Mills from England. Not their first time in Bangkok but their first time fishing in Bangkok produced a fishing trip of a lifetime for Surrey based anglers Steve & Anna.
With the cooler mornings upon us now, the striped catfish were outfeeding the Mekong catfish until mid-morning when the giant Mekong catfish began to bend the rods double to our delight.
Certainly fishing in Bangkok is something most would not associate as your 'typical' day tour but the truth is that fishing in Bangkok produces some of the biggest freshwater fish species of the world.
Towards the end of the day, after many many good giant Mekong catfish to 44lb (20kg), Steve hooked into a 'steam train' of a fish - which after 15 minutes of battle snagged itself around our bungalow supports! Alley, nick named 'snag' showed his magic to it's full potential as he entered the water and freed the fish from its' safe heaven. 5 minutes later a 75lb giant Mekong catfish graced the banks - a great end to a great day's fishing in Bangkok. |
