Returning client Sam enjoyed his first day of 4 days fishing beginning at Boon Mar Ponds. The first hour of the day proved quite tough, which is very unlike the barramundi fishing at Boon Mar Ponds especially for a proficient fly fisher such as Sam.
A little later and a change of pond saw Sam connecting with the first of 25 barramundi, mostly all caught on the fly. The average size barra was around 5kg (11lb), however a few better fish upto 8kg (16lb08oz) were landed.
A thoroughly enjoyable day's fly fishing in Thailand, soon to be followed with a couple of days arapaima fishing and a day's Siamese carp fishing. Follow the next catch report to see how Sam got on.
