Bungsamran Produces 140lb Mekong Catfish
Vic Barber from England came fishing in Bangkok for the second time to Bungsamran Lake, target species - BIG Mekong catfish. After landing several catfish around the 40lb mark, Vic hooked into the above 140lb Mekong catfish which literally took him around the houses. Winding it's way around all the fishing bungalow posts, Fish Thailand guide 'Alley' was forced to get in the lake and follow the fish's route beneath the bungalow staging. Eventually after more Fish Thailand guides came to help the fish was netted and weighed at exactly 140lb.
Fishing Shadow Lake Bangkok
The next day Vic booked a day fishing trip with Fish Thailand to again fishing in Bangkok but this time for some lighter work at Shadow Lake. Using standard UK carp fishing gear in conjunction with a rod-pod and buzzers, Vic enjoyed plenty of big striped catfish to 40lb and a wonderfully conditioned Siamese carp into the low 20's.
