REPORT

Fishing Thailand's prolific predator venue IT Lake Monsters produced some cracking arapaima this month. Gareth & Maureen Griffiths landed a 140lb+ specimen along with plenty of action from a diversity of other Amazonian and Thai predatory fish species. Martin Beesley was another angler to enjoy the arapaima fishing action with another beauty of over 150lb.

Boon Mar Ponds yet again produced some great sport and this time for Gary & Stephan who took countless barramundi on the lure to a whopping 20lb in weight.

Story of the month yet again falls to globe-trotting specimen hunter Andy Harman. Regular readers will know that Andy's quest to target the world's biggest freshwater fish species is well underway and so far from just Thailand alone he has an impressive fish list including Mekong catfish to over 150lb & arapaima to over 300lb. This visit was to primarily to improve his Siamese carp best weight of in the 40lb bracket and also to fish for a bigger arapaima - no not a typing error - Andy is after an even bigger arapaima than his current 300lb'er! Fishing at Bungsamran Lake did produce a better Siamese carp of 77lb and a lovely looking Chao Phraya Catfish but no more monster arapaima. A session however at a venue soon to open this year did produce a 176lb arapaima - details to be disclosed later..............
