At present there are currently over 20
different species in the lake this provided an excellent
opportunity to catch several in day and experience the
different Thai / Amazonian specimens. The most common species
landed when using non-predatory baits include
Siamese carp
(50lb+), Amazon redtail catfish (50lb+),
pacu (20lb+),
sawai
striped catfish and
giant Mekong catfish (60lb+). The lake is
also home to some of the rarer species being the
Julian’s
prized carp and giant gourami.

Successful techniques include the
waggler fishing which often accounts for a variety of
different species when set up effectively.
Alternatively, the Mekong catfish and sawai striped
catfish respond well to a ram ball bound to a cage
feeder suspended beneath a float in middle layers. Both
methods benefit from accurate feeding and casting to
